Position Title: Restaurant Manager
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time
Position Location: 1845 Carling Avenue Ottawa, ON K2A 1E4
Compensation/ hours per week: 40-44 hours per week, $22-$25 per hour
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients of our foodshop
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
- Provide inventory and price management, including the shipping and receiving of product.
- Liaison with outside suppliers
- Support staff recruitment, oversee staff training and provide progress updates and feedback.
- Create staff work schedule, monitor labour and adjust schedules in accordance with needs of the business.
- Monitor staff performance
- Resolve customer complaints or “code reds”, provide quality control and ensure follow up with Kitchen and Bakery teams.
- Provide feedback on changes to type of services or products offered. Bring recommendations based on sales as well as customer feedback.
- Be a “brand ambassador” knowledgeable about all of our goods and services including take home food, bakery, take home catering and offsite catering offerings.

Position Title: Catering Servers + Event Captains
We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced catering servers, captains, event support to join our team! Thyme & Again – top catering company in Ottawa, is looking for enthusiastic and experienced Catering Servers & Event Captains to help lead and support the execution of events ranging from cocktail receptions, large sit-down dinners, galas, corporate lunches, outdoor weddings, smaller house events — and everything in between!
Job Requirements:
- Individuals who apply must bring great communication, solid attention to detail, good time management skills and are able to work with client feedback.
- With the support of our catering coordinators, they will oversee and help to support set up, service, and breakdown for all events –both large and small.
- Brings high energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Works well under pressure, is adaptable, and will ensure the execution of high-end food & beverage service in an assortment of catering environments.
- Willing to travel to different locations for stellar events across the city and surrounding areas.
- Bilingualism in both official languages a strong asset
- Availability for day, evenings & weekends.

Position Title: Retail Staff & Keyholders
We are looking for dynamic, creative leaders who are passionate about food & customer service to join our retail team at both our 1255 Wellington Street West and 1845 Carling Avenue locations.
As we ramp into the Fall, Thyme & Again is seeking experienced Retail Staff and Keyholders to join our team! Candidates should be hands-on, energetic food lovers who want to ensure every guest visiting Thyme & Again enjoys a fun, welcoming and engaging experience. Every time they visit!
Looking for food and beverage connoisseurs as passionate about food and service as we are – priority will be given to applicants with a strong food service background.
Responsibilities:
- Must love food, customer service – and fun!
- Support the operations of our retail shops, while providing outstanding customer service to every customer – every day!
- Be a front of house ambassador for all of our products and services. Be knowledgeable about our menus and our local partners while sharing expertise and recommendations with our guests.
- Bring consistent energy to our collaborative team, comfortable working closely with our kitchen, bakery and administrative teams to ensure excellent customer service and outstanding offerings to every customer, every day.
- Be comfortable about being hands on with food! Package, plate, grill, box and serve our sweet & savoury offerings including (but not limited to) sandwiches, salads, soups, baked goods and seasonal specials. Perform barista duties including preparing and serving our artisan beverages.
- Perform opening and closing duties, stock and refill displays, ensure an always inviting environment for our guests.
Requirements:
o 2-3 years of experience in a food service/retail environment mandatory
o Prior experience as a keyholder or supervisor will be prioritized.
o Possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
o Excellent interpersonal & customer service skills
o Smart Serve certification desired, Food Handler’s Certification is a bonus!
